Sharon Harris is the Global Sales Strategy Lead for Windows 8 Ads in Apps and Mobility. She is responsible aligning our global go to market strategy for Windows 8 Ads in Apps and mobility. Sharon works on the global business leveraging virtual work teams to develop sales strategy and manage competitive insights. Sharon collaborates on sales coordination efforts as well overall messaging for advertising on Windows 8. Prior to joining A&O, Sharon was the Global Product Marketing Manager responsible for the fall 2012 launch of advertising on Windows 8. She led the launch of Skype mobile in early 2012 which was acquired Microsoft in 2010.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Sharon served as the Director of Global Sales Development for JumpTap, Inc. Jumptap is the global leader in mobile targeted advertising solutions, providing superior performance and premium advertising solutions that run across the highest quality premium mobile ad network. With offices in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, and Toronto, Sharon’s team oversaw global advertising campaigns for such clients as Atari, Best Buy, Nike, P&G and Bank of America as well as coordinating mobile publishers like the NBA, MSNBC, FOX News and NBC Entertainment. Sharon also drove the development of custom integrated mobile advertising campaigns for clients and publishers. Sharon’s team achieved 200% year over year revenue growth.
With over 16 years of traditional media and digital media experience, Sharon is a new media veteran who has helped brand and launch many campaigns and products. She possesses the rare blend of brand marketer with an aptitude for technology. From satellite radio to interactive TV and mobile initiatives, Sharon has worked with a variety of senior management teams to help define their digital brand and business strategies. Sharon has held key marketing executive positions at Sirius Satellite Radio and Discovery Communications, Inc. the parent company to The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, The Travel Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Kids, BBC America and 5 digital channels.
Sharon Harris served as the Vice President of Marketing for IAC Advertising Solutions. IAC Advertising Solutions was the advertising sales organization within IAC that represented such premium brands as Evite, Match.com, Ticketmaster, Citysearch, Excite, IWON! and Expedia.com. The IAC/AS portfolio of brands represents 45% of the total online audience. Sharon oversaw the strategic direction and branding efforts of IAC Advertising Solutions and supported national digital media and search sales teams.
Prior to IAC/AS Sharon was the Director of Ad Sales Marketing for Reuters Consumer Media. Sharon provided marketing support for the US team as well as consult to the UK and Asian offices. Sharon was responsible for a full range of marketing responsibilities and was relied on to manage multi-million dollar accounts and direct company-wide projects to raise the visibility of the Reuters Consumer Media business. Sharon was also active in the development of the Reuters Black Employee Network and Reuters Inter-affinity Council to provide support and development for diverse employees around the globe.
Sharon began her career in financial services at Credit Suisse assisting with global financing instruments and global debt consolidations. She later went on to manage and administer new technology focused hedge fund accounts at renowned hedge fund D.E. Shaw which helped to launch Amazon.
Sharon Harris is a native of Morganza, Louisiana. Sharon attended Yale University and New York University and graduated with a B.A. in Literature and has completed graduate course work toward a Masters degree in Literature.
