Laura Hernandez, executive director of Multicultural Marketing at AT&T, is responsible for the strategic development of the AT&T brand and positioning of AT&T products and services to the diverse markets that the company serves. Through the creation of products and the alignment of relevant marketing messages, she and her team drive AT&T brand preference among, African Americans, Asian Americans, Americans with Disability, Members of the Military, Veterans and Members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Community.
During her seventeen years at AT&T, Hernandez has driven marketing and advertising initiatives, including managing the Company’s direct mail and online campaigns and leading the day to day diversity marketing efforts for products and services. During her tenure at AT&T, Hernandez has also worked in Public Affairs where she developed communication strategies for public policy issues affecting the Company.
For over 23 years, Hernandez has built her career in marketing and public affairs through her work in the public and private sector, including as Deputy Director Latino Outreach for the Democratic National Committee and at Bromley Communications of San Antonio.
Hernandez, a San Antonio-native, is an active member of her community. She serves on various boards, including the Smithsonian Latino Center in Washington DC, and United Way Central Texas, Marketing Committee. Ms. Hernandez is an active member of Austin’s Chapter of the Human Rights Campaign. Most recently, Laura is serving as Vice Chair, Multicultural Austin Ad Federation.
Laura is graduated of the University of Texas with a Bachelors in Advertising and is received her Direct Mail Certification from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Ms. Hernandez is married and has two step children and a 3 year old son, Nico. In her spare time, Laura enjoys reading, running, yoga and rooting for her beloved Texas Longhorns.
